I have owned property for over 20 years in the Coachella Valley. It is my “escape” from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles and work. I thought I knew most of the hot spots here in the CV until I came to the Chateau at Lake La Quinta, off Washington St, on Caleo Bay. What a gem!
Chateau General Manger Michael Spencer (who originally came from LA – not too far from my fire station) and his team create an incredible experience as a guest. The hotel sits right on the water with views of the beautiful homes in Lake La Quinta to the east and stunning mountains across the street to the west.
The hotel looks and feels of nothing but first class from the moment you walk in. Beautifully decorated, the lobby, bar and rooms are welcoming and comfortable. Most places with water features in the desert look beautiful, however the Chateau has the best view of any water feature I have been to.
While sipping some of the best of wines from Napa, Sonoma, France, and Italy, on the relaxing patio where you can sit next to fire pits, while smelling the wood burning from the outdoor pizza oven.
I could feel my blood pressure dropping in points as I melted watching small boats cruise by and talking with people from near and far who were dining outside.
Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner the food at the Melange is excellent and the staff has a “service before self” attitude. They go out of their way to accommodate and ensure you are well taken care of. They even have Sunday brunch!
With COVID-19 19 keeping most of us tethered close to home, this is a great place to come and relax whether you are a local in the Coachella Valley or from outside the area for a little “stay – cation.” There is plenty of golf and with some COVID restrictions lifted, there is entertainment, car shows, hiking etc. available!
The best part about the Chateau is whether you are here during the prime time of the season, or one of the hottest days in the summer, it is the coolest place to be! They are pet friendly and is an excellent location for weddings or business meetings.
I promise you will not be disappointed. I am so impressed with GM Michael Spencer and his staff; I could not wait to write this article!
