Ribbon Cutting and Free Concert to be Held on April 17
The City of Indio, renowned as the “City of Festivals,” is proud to announce a free concert open to the public at the grand opening of its latest project in the revitalization of Downtown Indio, “Center Stage,” on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
“Center Stage Presents Sonidos” invites the community to experience the vibrant tapestry of Hispanic artists, providing a platform for local talent to shine and for residents to revel in the festivities amidst the bustling festival season.
“We are thrilled to unveil this brand new venue in Downtown Indio with such an exciting concert and it was important to us that this concert was free for the community to partake in,” said Mayor Lupe Ramos Amith. “Join us as we commemorate the opening of a new landmark in Indio and embark on an exciting journey of artistic discovery and community celebration.”
Center Stage will serve as the epicenter for a diverse array of events, ranging from the popular Second Saturdays free monthly concert series to open-mic nights, performances, viewing parties, and more. This venue aims to celebrate and showcase the rich diversity of talent within the community and entertainers travelling through the Coachella Valley.
A ribbon cutting ceremony for Center Stage is scheduled for Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 5 p.m., and Sonidos will kick off at 6 p.m. The concert’s lineup is expected to be revealed next week.
