The Palm Springs Cultural Center is thrilled to announce the addition of esteemed Hitchcock experts Richard L. Edwards and Steven C. Smith to the Hitchcock Retrospective film series, commencing on April 5 with the iconic thriller “The 39 Steps.” This collaboration promises to elevate the series to new heights, attracting film scholars and enthusiasts alike to indulge in the cinematic brilliance of Alfred Hitchcock.

Richard L. Edwards, Executive Director of XCITE at UC Riverside, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in film studies, having taught a massive online course on Hitchcock for Turner Classic Movies (TCM) and co-hosted the popular podcast “Out of the Past: Investigating Film Noir.” His counterpart, Steven C. Smith, a four-time Emmy-nominated producer and acclaimed author, has delved deep into Hitchcock’s world through interviews with the director’s collaborators and his comprehensive biography of Bernard Herrmann.

The series will feature monthly screenings of Hitchcock classics, with Edwards and Smith providing insightful introductions and post-screening discussions. From the suspenseful “Rope” to the chilling “Psycho,” each film promises to captivate audiences and spark engaging dialogue.
