DHS is one of the few places in the world that has a dual aquifer with both hot and cold water coming up from the earth. Underneath this small town, flows the healing mineral water that you can both drink and beneficially soak in. The Sparkling, clear mineral springs have been nourishing bodies and minds since the early 1900’s when they were first discovered by Pioneer Cabot Yerxa*.
Balneotherapy is the ancient art of immersing oneself in thermal mineral waters; utilizing the minerals in thermal springs to improve health and wellness primarily through soaking, steaming and inhalation. Minerals found in the DHS healing waters include Silica, Iron Oxide, Calcium, Aluminum Oxide Magnesium, Sodium, Sulfate, Chloride Bicarbonate, Fluoride and Sodium Chloride. Balneotherapy enthusiasts believe these minerals help alleviate a number of ailments including arthritis, chronic skin diseases, urinary conditions, chronic metallic poisoning, burns, including sunburn, cardiovascular support, dandruff, dry skin, and many other common ailments.
