Chef Pierre Pelech shares his classic French cuisine with desert residents every day of the week except Mondays.  He and his staff provide an elegant dining experience of French classics for a reasonable price.

Guests are seated at tables draped with white linens.  A complimentary basket of wood-oven baked breads with sides of pate and creamy French butter appear within minutes.  The soft lighting and subtle background music transport you to a hidden Parisian bistro.

The selection of authentic French is extensive.  A decadent French onion soup is served in a cheese-encrusted bowl, a platter of escargot swimming in a pool of garlic, parsley and butter, a puff pastry baked goat cheese and caramelized onions, an aromatic fish soup, and endive salad with candied walnuts and bleu cheese, celery remoulade salad, frisee salad with lardons and poached egg all contribute to the anticipation of the courses to follow.

Chef Pierre prides himself on using only organic vegetables, wild caught seafood and is a regular at the deserts’ many farmer markets composing his dishes as he shops for the freshest seasonal ingredients.

I have ordered several different entrees and have never been disappointed by their presentation or flavor.  The sauces complement and never overwhelm the dish.  The duck always has a crispy skin and the meat retains its moist succulence. The steak frites is tender and draped with a subtle bordelaise sauce.  The fries are crispy and creamy at the same time.  French chefs are known for their skill at preparing organ meats.  Chef Pierre offers calf liver, kidneys and sweet breads with delicious sauces and careful attention that mitigate any gamey off-putting flavors.  The frog legs are both crispy and moist and have a hybrid flavor and texture of fish and chicken.  The steak tartar is silky and flavorful.

Several specials are offered nightly. There are always several fish and chicken entrees.

Crème Brulee, tart tatin with ice cream, beignets with vanilla and chocolate sauces are always on the menu.  An array of specials and great coffees and cocktails highlight a delightful evening.
