Nestled in the heart of Palm Desert, adorned with shabby chic décor and a baker’s rack-worth of cutlery and mug-themed wall fixtures, is Cups Café—opening its doors to patrons looking for an exceptional restaurant experience with a cozy hometown feel.
Owners Gustavo and Marco Castellanos embarked on a journey to bring their love of creative cuisine to the Cups Café dining experience. With fresh farm to table ingredients and traditional Mexican flair, Cups Cafe is a place where good food and great coffee bring friends and family together.
“We wanted to create a place that felt like home. A place where you could visit with friends and family while enjoying great coffee and delicious food,” says Marco Castellanos.
Having worked in the restaurant business, Marco and Gustavo were comfortable in the kitchen. They had always dreamed of having a restaurant of their own. With over 20 years of experience the two finally took a leap of faith to open Cups Cafe. The name stems from the restaurant’s original clock made of cups. Marco and Gustavo created a home away from home with delicious family recipes and a casual quaint dining experience.
Enjoy the best breakfast, brunch, and lunch options with signature dishes like the Chilaquiles—consisting of a house country red sauce or tomatillo, diced onions, topped with queso fresco, fresh cream, served with two eggs, and available with steak or chicken–or the Shrimp Frittata—with Cups style five jumbo shrimp sautéed on chipotle tomato sauce served with potatoes egg torte, spinach & Pico de Gallo. Another staple that infuses Mexican cuisine with homestyle favorites includes the Mexican Benedict, a gluten free option served over potato chorizo cake, finished with béarnaise sauce, and paired with refried beans.
If you’re looking for rich and savory lunch options, try the Tuna Melt–served on sourdough bread, cheddar cheese & caramelized onions—or a juicy Cups Cheeseburger—with ground top sirloin on a brioche bun, sun-dried tomato spread, raw & caramelized onions, roasted bacon and cheese.
Customers are also able to purchase gift cards as the perfect gift for that special someone, and another fan favorite is the specialty Cups Cafe personalized mugs to enjoy the comforts of Cups at home.
After visiting Cups Cafe, not only will you leave feeling full and satisfied from the menu’s robust entrée and drink options, but also charmed by the welcoming atmosphere and enthusiastic staff.
