Since the 2023 football season officially kicked-off this September, Coachella Valley high school football fields have been sizzling beneath the glaring rays of our sun-filled skies. As passion and dedication clash amidst the grueling “gridiron”, future Hall of Famers battle it out while family and fans cheer in the bleachers. Who knows, maybe it will be your son that will be featured in a future Super Bowl extravaganza. If so, this article may be the opening whistle that leads you and your son to scoring the touchdown of football training and performance success.

The Coachella Valley is an unforgiving battlefield for future football superstars – The bigger our valley gets, the fiercer the competition will be. Make no mistake about it. Only the most determine, and most precession athletes will succeed. So, when it comes to guiding your future football star’s fitness and sports journey, look no further than the Coachella Valley’s premier athletic and performance center, and its athletic instructor expert.

For three decades, Michael Butler, owner/lead instructor of KINETIX HEALTH & PERFORMANCE CENTER, has helped finetune many future football champions to score their winning touchdown, and in this week’s “THE FIT STOP – A MINUTE WITH MICHAEL”, Michael addresses the topic of America’s greatest pastime.

Our question comes from local resident, Rob. Rob, thank you for writing us this week.

Rob asks:

“Michael, my son loves football, and he is currently playing and training as much as he can. The plan is to go pro one day – at least that’s the hope. Do you have any advice about his training? What exercises/stretches are best to keep him injury free etc.? Thanks Michael.”

Michael’s reply:

“Hello Rob. Your son needs an athletic assessment to see where his strengths and weaknesses lie. From there, he would be placed into a developmental strength program that is periodized throughout the year. It takes a good 6-8 weeks of neuro development to enhance the nervous system to the stressors of weight training. Injury prevention is key, and so are the phases of training. All depends on his training experience as to where we begin. Hope this helps, and looking forward to perhaps seeing you soon. Michael”
