Kim Gordon is probably best known as bassist, vocalist and guitarist for Post-Punk progenitors, Sonic Youth who formed in New York City in 1981. Following the dissolution of the band in 2011 (and the end of her nearly 30-year marriage to the band’s guiding force, Thurston Moore), for the last decade or so, she has carved out a niche for herself as a critically acclaimed solo artist.
2019 saw the release of her solo debut, No Record Home. Earlier this year, she returned with her second long-player, The Collective, via Matador Records. Both efforts garnered rave reviews from taste-maker publications like Mojo, Uncut, Pitchfork and Stereogum.
