Live at the hottest road house in California… Pappy & Harriet’s. January 9th, 7PM Free Show

by Robin Linn

The Bobby Nichols Band features fine musicianship and stunning guitar work. These Inner Planetary Monks have crafted a sound from desert landscape, and it is filtered through the lens of Bobby Nichols. The interplay between these talented musicians is enthralling and exciting. They are firmly ensconced in the law of the groove and they weave idea after idea together seamlessly. The band features bassist Bob Gross who has developed and crafted his sound playing with Soul Kiss and Jememiah Puddleduck alongside legendary jam band guitarist Mark Karan (Bob Weir/Rat Dog). Bob loves this hometown project, and both Bobs love playing at the finest roadhouse on the planet. This will be drummer Nathaniel Scott’s first Pappy & Harriet’s experience. Nate is a bad boy who brings his rhythmic Sonor magic to the mix. It’s possible that Wally Ingram might chime in for this one if he isn’t too exhausted from his LA show at The Mint with Eric McFadden Residency…..but, we won’t know that until the very last minute. Either way, this promises to be an exciting live show!

Pappy & Harriets has become the go to place for indie bands, touring international acts, and legendary performers seeking to experience a bit of our high desert magic. It has long been a favorite tourist stop for bikers, cowboys, and fans of the old west. Bands like Les Claypool’s Dua Detwang, The Melvins, The Weirdos, Reverend Horton Heat, Wanda Jackson, Paul Chesne Band, and local acts of stature such as JVR, Shadow Mountain Band, Rojer Arnold Band, The Sunday Band (featuring Victoria Williams, Gar Robertson, Carol Ann Crandall, Damian Lester, Bob Furgo, Rachel Dean, Ryan Norman, Caleb Winn) and more. Other upcoming shows of interest are: Future Birds, Jane Lee Hooker and The Bluebonnets, Parquet Courts, Island and Haunted. For us high desert residents and music fans…..Pappy’s has become a haven for music of all genres…..and we love them for it!
