Emmy-award winning actor and comedian Dana Carvey is best known for his iconic and indelible “Saturday Night Live” characters – most memorably Church Lady, Grumpy Old Man, Hans, of the Hans and Franz body building duo, and of course Garth – Mike Myers’ “excellent co-host” on the classic sketch turned feature film, Wayne’s World.
He was most recently seen starring as Garth once again alongside Mike Myers in a massive Super Bowl commercial for Uber Eats. Carvey has received much praise for his uncanny comedic impersonations of American political figures (popular with both audiences and the subjects of his impersonations), including George HW Bush, Ross Perot, Jerry Brown, and Bob Dole.
Carvey made his feature film debut in This Is Spinal Tap, and other earlier works include Racing With The Moon, One Of The Group, Tough Guys, and the comedy Opportunity Knocks. Other notable films for Carvey include The Road To Wellville, Clean Slate, and Trapped In Paradise. In 2004, Dana starred in The Master Of Disguise, a family comedy where Carvey took on 36 different identities and spoke in 14 different languages as the hapless titular character. Dana has also lent his voice to bring ‘Pops’ the dog to life animated mega-hit, Secret Life Of Pets and its sequel.
In 2016, Dana released a Netflix Special “Straight White Male, 60” to much acclaim.
You can now hear Dana on his chart-topping hit podcast “Fly On The Wall” which he co-hosts with friend and fellow-comic David Spade, and voicing several characters on the animated show “Mulligan,” produced by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.
Emmy Award, Golden Globe, and American Comedy Awards nominee, David Spade was born in Birmingham, Michigan and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. He began his career by performing stand-up comedy in clubs, theaters and colleges across the country.
He made his television debut on “Saturday Night Live,” and was soon named the “Hot Stand-Up Comedian of the Year” by Rolling Stone Magazine. As a writer and a performer on “SNL” for five years, he is best known for his memorable characters including the sarcastic “Hollywood Minute” reporter on “Weekend Update” and catch phrases like “And you are…?” and “Buh-Bye!”.
He can be seen hosting the new FOX game show, “Snake Oil”, that debuted in 2023. Spade has also starred in film and television highlights such as the title character in the endearing and hilarious Joe Dirt, Grown Ups, The Wrong Missy, “Rules Of Engagement” and “8 Simples Rules.”
Other film credits include Tommy Boy and Black Sheep alongside the late Chris Farley, Hotel Transylvania franchise, Benchwarmer, Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, and The Do-Over opposite Adam Sandler and Paula Patton.
Spade has also had several well-received standup comedy specials, including Comedy Central’s “David Spade: My Fake Problems” in 2014.
For his memorable role as Dennis Finch on “Just Shoot Me”, Spade received nominations for a 1999 Emmy Award, Golden Globe, and American Comedy Award. Spade continues to be a box office draw, touring his stand-up shows nationwide.
