The One Woman Show will be Performed by Beverly Johnson on June 3rd at the Palm Springs Cultural Center

Palm Springs Women in Film & Television (PSWIFT) has partnered with the Palm Springs Cultural Center to present Supermodel, Beverly Johnson, in her one woman show, “Beverly Johnson: In Vogue.” Tickets are now on sale for the event. which will be held June 3, 2023, beginning at 6 p.m.

Co-written by Johnson and Josh Ravetch, the one woman show tells Johnson’s story beginning with her groundbreaking photo on the cover of Vogue Magazine. The show’s director, Josh Ravetch, is a playwright and screenwriter known for co-creating and directing Carrie Fisher’s one woman show “Wishful Drinking” and Dick Van Dyke’s one man show “Step in Time.”

“Her life took an unexpected turn when she broke her silence, went public, and revealed that she, too, was drugged by Bill Cosby,” said Ravetch. “That disclosure became part of the key momentum that, in part, helped to launch the #MeToo movement.”

“We’re proud to be partnering with the Palm Springs Cultural Center to bring this amazing story about a woman who graced over 500 magazine covers and remains one of the most iconic figures in the world of fashion and modeling,” said past president of Palm Springs Women in Film & Television, Kim Waltrip.

Michael C. Green, executive director of the Palm Springs Cultural Center, added “This is an important program and we are honored to be a part of its premiere.”

Early bird tickets are $45 and $55 at the door. There will be a limited number of VIP tickets available, at $100 per person, which include a premium seat, a cocktail reception and a ‘Meet & Greet’ with the Supermodel, following the show. Tickets are available at PSCulturalCenter.org.

About Joshua Ravetch

Joshua Ravetch is best known for his collaboration with actress/writer Carrie Fisher, co-creating and directing her in The Geffen Playhouse’s world premiere of Wishful Drinking, Ms. Fisher’s smash hit one woman show. The play enjoyed an extended run on Broadway at Studio 54 and was adapted into a special for HBO. Ravetch was collaborating with Ms. Fisher to create the sequel to Wishful Drinking: Wishful Drinking Strikes Back, a Geffen Playhouse commission, at the time of her passing. Also at The Geffen playhouse, Ravetch co-wrote and directed Dick Van Dyke in his first-ever one-man show, Step in Time! A Musical Memoir. In the show, Van Dyke took audiences to the rooftops of London for a magical journey from Mary Poppins to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang including hilarious moments from the Dick Van Dyke Show involving a certain ottoman.
