Established in 1965, the 19th Hole Bar & Restaurant endures by providing a winning combination of excellent food, a welcoming atmosphere, a full bar surrounded by flat screen TV’s, and very reasonable prices. A pool table, frequent live music, and a Sunday brunch with a Bloody Mary bar, augment the 19th Hole experience. When I walked in, I felt like I was slipping on my favorite comfy flannel shirt. Lots of happy folks, including large families were enjoying food, drink, and conversation. It instantly made me want to be a “regular.”
The main reason I sought out the 19th Hole was for the accolades they received for their fish and chips. It was a good sign there was malt vinegar stocked on every table’s condiment tray. My visit was during their 4 – 7 p.m. daily happy hour. The two large pieces of cod with a thin, crispy batter, rested on ranch fries similar to the “chips” I’ve had in pubs throughout Europe. The fish was moist and the batter was light without being soaked in grease. And it was $10.00. It was easily the best fish and chips I have had in the Coachella Valley.
The service was prompt and friendly with plenty of interior and exterior dining options. The 19th Hole is a combination sports bar and diner with a Cheers atmosphere. A great place to watch a game with friends and family while enjoying some really good, reasonably priced, food and beverages.
